RF Engineer

Permanent employee, Full-time · Munich

Twentyfour Industries
We are an early-stage startup funded by leading European VCs with the mission to build advanced small Unmanned Systems to strengthen European sovereignty and security.
What we’re looking for
We’re hiring an RF Engineer to design, build, and validate the RF subsystems that are core to our products. This is a hands-on, high-impact role with significant autonomy, working on robust digital RF links, low-latency video transmission, and tightly integrated airborne and ground-based RF systems. You’ll work close to real hardware, real constraints, and real operational requirements.
The day-to-day
  • Design and integrate RF front-ends, including mixers, filters, LNAs, PAs, and up/down-conversion stages.
  • Architect RF subsystems in the 1–10 GHz range for telemetry, control, and digital video links.
  • Develop and integrate antennas, tuners, and receiver subsystems.
  • Build and operate complex RF and mixed-signal measurement setups (VNA, spectrum analysis, noise, timing, power).
  • Validate RF and video link performance in realistic operational and field scenarios.
  • Integrate and optimize low-latency video pipelines (H.264 / H.265) over RF links.
  • Work closely with electronics, embedded, FPGA, systems, and mechanical engineers.
  • Document designs, measurements, and tradeoffs to enable fast iteration and scaling.
You should apply if you
  • Have strong hands-on RF engineering experience and enjoy working close to hardware.
  • Naturally take ownership of complex subsystems end-to-end.
  • Prefer empirical testing and fast iteration over purely theoretical work.
  • Are comfortable making and defending technical decisions under real constraints.
  • Care deeply about performance, robustness, and real-world reliability.
  • Want your work to directly shape deployed, fielded systems.
Nice to haves
  • Familiarity with FPGA-based RF or video processing (e.g. Xilinx, Intel, HDL basics).
  • Antenna simulation and EM tools experience (e.g. HFSS, CST, FEKO).
  • Knowledge of RF coexistence, interference mitigation, and spectrum efficiency techniques.
  • Experience with low-probability-of-intercept / low-probability-of-detection (LPI/LPD) links.
  • Background in UAV, aerospace, defense, or other safety-critical systems.
  • Field testing experience, including range testing and link characterization in complex environments.
What we offer
  • Very high ownership and technical autonomy.
  • Direct impact on real, deployed products.
  • A team of driven, low-ego, technically excellent engineers.
  • High standards, fast feedback, and minimal bureaucracy.
  • Responsibility and scope that scale with performance.
